The Roman Legions managed to conquer most of the known Western world, allowing the emperor to control one quarter of the people on the planet at the time. This vast amount of territory was controlled by one of the first modern armies, who dictum of standardization and high equipment quality made them the best-equipped soldiers of the ancient world. Compared to most other opponents, the Romans were heavily armored, heavily armed, and highly skilled at using their weapons and equipment.
In the 1960’s a discovery was made in Scotland of 7 tons of Roman nails buried six feet deep to keep the conquered from finding them and making swords out of the iron. The Roman general Agricola buried them rather than transporting them to the German front when he and his soldiers were transferred.

The Romans crucified the men by the millions. Four nails were used. Five inch nails were driven between the man’s wrists bones and six or seven inch nails through his heels. Crucifixion was temporary. No one knows for sure which kind of nail they crucified Jesus of Nazareth with.
This NAIL is from the LATE CLASSIC ROMAN PERIOD:  1st – 3rd CENTURY AD
Measures  3″ long.  Wear as seen.   ok…maybe too short for crucifixion and maybe not since they were much small people..cant tell…but still a nice nail and of the type that would be used
